Issuing a private driving license

Documents required to issue a private driver's license:

1. Print the application for a driver's license.
2. After the application is approved, sign the medical fitness certificate form.
3. After completing the medical examination and determining the blood type, a driver's education permit is issued from the Licensing Department.
4. Schedule a test appointment through the Ministry of Interior's website.
5. After passing the theoretical and practical tests, the driver's license procedures are completed at the Department.
6. A copy of the civil ID card is required.
7. A copy of the passport is required.
8. 2 personal photos 6x4 with blue background. Education form and fee according to the type of license and expiry date. Original work permit and a copy of it + signature approval (for employees of companies and institutions). (Non-Kuwaiti) Security card + criminal evidence request for stateless persons. (Non-Kuwaiti) Original civil card of the sponsor for domestic workers (Article 20) and authentication from his country's embassy - Ministry of Foreign Affairs. (Non-Kuwaiti) Legal residence for two years or according to Ministerial Resolution No. 1729 For the year 2005, all driving licenses issued to non-Kuwaitis are valid for the duration of the residence permit in the country.
